How did you hear about the Arise® Platform?
I was actually following a work-from-home Facebook page, and somebody on it mentioned the Arise® Platform. I didn’t know the person at all, but she said that she used the Arise® Platform—and I decided to check it out.
I now service the cruise line client, and I started in 2014 by signing up under another Service Partner and then started my own business in 2015.
What do you like most about the cruise line opportunity?
I just love the cruise line client—it’s an easy client to service. You have hours available, the amount you earn is good, you get to work from home, you get to book cruises for guests, and they are excited and happy.
That makes me happy, you know.
Has there ever been a time in which you feel you positively impacted someone’s life by providing customer service?
I had a situation last month where somebody wanted to sail out in three days—and the ship they wanted was full—so I had to put them on a waiting list.
But I happened to service the next day, checked the waitlist for the client, and was able to get her on the cruise! It turns out that she wanted to be on the same cruise as her daughters.
She was extremely thankful and amazed that I actually followed up with her.
I like helping guests get what they want: to take a cruise and have a wonderful time.
I’ve done it so long—the class and hearing about the experiences from guests—that even though I have never been on a cruise, I take their experiences to help me provide even better customer service.
What do you like most about the Arise® Platform?
I love having the freedom to look at different programs and schedule my own hours.
All the different opportunities that come up are interesting, and while working from home, you can’t really beat that.
The Arise® Platform is simple and easy to use, including the certification classes you go through and the process of scheduling your hours on Starmatic®.
How would you describe a typical experience for someone servicing the cruise line client program?
It’s nice having the ability to switch between providing customer service to travel agents and direct guests.
Direct Sales is more in-depth because you want to give the guest a good experience. You have to know which ship the guests wants and which ports the guests want to go out of—and what there is to do on each ship.
It’s nice having different guests call. You get to build a connection with each one that’s different from the one before.
Do you have any advice for those who are new to the Arise® Platform and/or the program you service?
I mean, I definitely feel like if somebody needs flexibility and wants the experience of balancing out work-life and home-life and kids, this gives them that opportunity.
I would have them go to the website and check out the great opportunities the Arise® Platform offers.
It doesn’t hurt anyone to register on the Arise® Platform, check it out, and see the opportunities pop up on the Arise® Portal.
Actually, one of my friends joined last year and started her own business. She liked that outside of her normal job she could come home and, if she needed to, service some hours to make some additional income. It helped her pay off a few things she wouldn’t have been able to otherwise.
For me, I like working from home, the flexibility, and not having to worry about rushing out the door in the morning [Laughs].

The Arise® Platform is awesome.
